Itinerary

Pick up in Leh and driving to camp
Our vehicle will pick you up from your hotel in Leh. The drive to our riverside camp in the village of Nimoo takes about an hour. Along the way, you’ll enjoy stunning views and get a taste of Ladakh’s unique landscape.

Meet at Camp – Briefing & Gear Fitting
You'll be welcomed at our riverside camp, where you'll meet your guides and enjoy a cup of tea. After a short briefing about the day's plan, we'll get you fitted with all the necessary gear — including wetsuits, river shoes, life jackets, and helmets. Our camp is equipped with clean toilets, a changing area, and a secure place to leave any belongings you won’t need during the rafting trip.

Drive to Scorpoche (starting point)
Once everyone is geared up, we’ll hop into our vehicle and head to the put-in point — a short 20-minute drive. Along the way, we’ll pass the stunning confluence of the Zanskar and Indus rivers and travel upstream along the Zanskar. Expect breathtaking views all around.
At the starting spot, our guides will set up the inflatable kayaks and gear. Once everything is ready, we’ll begin with a thorough safety demonstration before launching into the river adventure.

Inflatable Kayaking on the Zanskar River
Before we hit the water, our expert guides will give a clear and engaging safety demonstration. No prior experience? No problem — we’ll show you everything you need to know. Inflatable kayaking is beginner-friendly and doesn’t require any special skills.
You’ll ride in the kayak with a guide, so you’re in safe hands throughout. The first part of the section features fun, bouncy rapids — exciting but not too intense — perfect for a good laugh and a bit of adrenaline. The second half is calmer, giving you a chance to relax, enjoy the scenery, take a refreshing dip in the river, and just have fun.
We’ll float right back to our camp, where the adventure began.

Finish in camp, Lunch & Wrap-Up
After we return to camp, you’ll have time to change into dry clothes and relax. Then, we’ll gather in our dining area for a hearty and refreshing lunch — the perfect way to refuel after a fun morning on the river. Trust us, after all that paddling and splashing, you’ll have earned it!

1. Who is this trip for?

2. Do I need to know how to kayak?
Not at all! We offer inflatable kayaks (duckies) that are easy to maneuver and stable, along with professional instruction from our team. We’ll teach you everything you need to know before getting on the water.
3. What river do we kayak on?
We typically paddle a beautiful stretch of the Zanskar River near Nimoo, but depending on your preferences, we may also explore Indus River sections. The location is selected for its scenery, safety, and fun Class I–III rapids.
4. How long is the trip?
The total experience takes around 4–5 hours, including transport, briefing, gear-up, paddling (1.5 to 2.5 hours on water), and a snack break. It’s a great half-day adventure.

There is some risk involved in every adventure, that's why it's called an adventure! But, safety is our top priority. We provide international-standard safety gear, have trained rescue professionals on every trip, and conduct thorough safety briefings before we begin. We follow low-risk routes ideal for day paddling.
8. What’s the minimum age / fitness requirement?
We typically accept participants aged 12 and above who are reasonably fit and comfortable around water. If you have any health conditions or concerns, just let us know before booking.
9. Can I come if I don’t want to paddle?
Yes! On every inflatable kayak, you will be accompanied by a guide sitting behind you. Don't want to put in the effort to paddle? No problem. You can opt for an easier section down the Indus - and our guides will do all the work!
10. How do I book this trip?

11. What if I change my mind or plans change?
We get it — plans can shift in the mountains! We offer free rescheduling up to 24 hours before your trip.

We monitor river and weather conditions constantly. If conditions are unsafe, we’ll reschedule or offer a full refund. Your safety comes first.
13. Can I bring my camera or phone?
We recommend leaving phones behind (even if you have waterproof cases). We usually have a GoPro or camera with our guides, and we’ll share photos post-trip!
