Day 3

After breakfast we hike for 2 hours up to Hunder Dok. Picnic Lunch, then we cycle downhill or rafting on the Hunder river (class III/IV creek) till Diskit. Drive back to Hunder. Camel Safari and then can roam around in the village or rest since you’d be tired from hiking and cycling, then stay at homestay/camp in Hunder.

Day 4
Hunder to Leh (cycling)

Breakfast then drive to Khar Dung La, cycle down from Khar Dung La to Leh. Stay at a hotel in Leh.

Day 5
Leh to Basgo (rafting)

Paddle the upper indus - 25km for class II/III. Lunch at our base in Nimoo, then 10 min drive to Basgo and stay at village homestay. Enjoy some nice home cooked local meals, take a hot shower and prepare for Zanskar the next day.

Day 6
Basgo to Lingshed (driving)

Drive to Lingshed village - a small village which had no road access until two years back. Pickup at 9 am, 6 to 8 hours drive. Lunch on the way. We'll drive through the Indus Valley at first then shift into a small off beat road, driving along a very pretty stream for the next few hours. Beatiful views, and we'll cross two high passes - Sir Sir La and Singe La. We'll camp at Lingshed - very pretty campsite on the meadows of Lingshed village and call it a day

Day 7
Lingshed to Zangla (driving and hiking)

Short hike up to Lingshed Monastery in the morning then drive to Zangla - starting point of our Zanskar Expedition. We have breakfast before starting our drive, and lunch on the way. Camp at Zangla. In the evening we can visit the king’s palace at Zangla, and there might be a chance to meet the King.

Day 8
Zangla to Niraq (rafting)

Day 1 of rafting on the Zanskar! Today we will navigate one good class III (sometimes class IV depending on the water level) rapid with the option of a portage, and the rest will be class II or easy class III. We'll have lunch on the way (our chef will prepare lunch beforehand and we'll pack and carry it in our support raft). Total time on the river will be around 5 hours including lunch, and we'll reach Nerak in the afternoon - our camp site for the night.

Day 9
Niraq to Chilling (rafting)

Day 2 of rafting from Nerak to Chilling. We'll have several class III rapids today, and we'll kayak through steep gorges of the Zanskar valley, also known as the Grand canyon of Asia. Lunch at a secret waterfall by the river - the water is falling from two holes on the side of a mountain and no one has found its source yet. Camp at our best campsite ever - a huge isolated campsite, only accessible by the river and not even on Google Maps!

Day 10
Chilling to Nimoo (rafting), back to Basgo or Leh

Last day of rafting- from Chilling to Nimoo. Another day of several class III+ rapids, and this is the classic day trip section of the Zanskar! Late lunch at our campsite at around 2:30 pm, then we can either drop you back to Leh or you can stay at our village homestay in Basgo.
